Will Word For Food is my blog about writing for the web. I’ve been a professional writer for seven years, starting fresh out of university as a technical author for a pharmaceutical company in Cambridge (UK) and progressing through pharmaceutical marketing and public sector web management to running my own business.
I’m now a freelance web writer and consultant. My consultancy work is covered on my other site, www.maltpress.co.uk.
I offer services direct to clients or as a white-label contractor to web and communications agencies who need extra or very specialised staff on an ad-hoc basis. You can find more details on the services page of this site. My portfolio includes a range of topics in the private and public sectors, but with a particular expertise in technical and scientific subjects. My background in marine biology gives me a unique viewpoint on climate change issues, and I have also worked extensively with drug companies and financial service providers.
This site is regularly updated with portfolio pieces and some of the things I’ve learnt – or exercises I’ve done – to keep me on my toes when I write. No writer should ever stop learning, and this site is about that – it’s about me learning from you and vice versa.
